Doctor Marc A. DiCarlo, DVM, MS

Doctor DiCarlo graduated from Cajon High School as his class Valedictorian in 1988. He received BS degrees with honors (cum Laude) in Biology and Sociology from the University of Redlands in 1995. He graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. He graduated with high honors (Magna cum Laude) with an advanced degree in Toxicology. He also received his DVM degree with honors (cum Laude) at the same time. Doctor DiCarlo is the only doctor to graduate with two advanced medical degrees in the same year from Kansas State University Veterinary Medical School in over 25 years. Doctor DiCarlo joined the Animal Care Wellness Center practice in 2003. He became a partner in 2004 and assumed role of President and Chief of Staff in 2006.

Doctor Janet Troxel, DVM

Dr. Janet Troxel, joined our medical staff in September 2008. Her original role was to serve our clients who can only come to our hospital for pet care on Saturdays, but has since become a full time staff member. Dr. Troxel graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. After a year as an associate, she worked the past two years for the Humane Society of San Bernardino. She loves to work with small animals and feels that keeping your pet healthy is like constantly solving a puzzle as she always says "you listen to their owners, try to decipher what their needs are, and find the solution". We are now pleased to offer Dr. Troxel's fine veterinary services all day long on Saturdays and full time on weekdays too.

Doctor Susan Holt, DVM

Dr.Susan Holt graduated in May 2009 from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine where she specialized in small animal care and surgery. Before joining our staff of doctors in June 2009, she had previously worked at the Veterinary Career Resource Center at the University of Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz where she also worked as a Teacher's Assistant. Before attending the university she worked for Ark Animal Hospital in Santa Cruz. Dr. Holt has organized charitable events for Omega Tau Sigma, a Veterinary Professional Fraternity. Dr. Holt has served our community as a valued full time member of our staff of veterinary doctors since June 2009.

Hospital Director - Kristie Snyder, RVT

Kristie attended Riverside Community College and then graduated from United Health Careers in 1988 with her State of California Veterinary Technicians licence(CA#3374). For the next 5 years she worked as a certified veterinary technician with Arlanza Animal and Bird Hospital in Riverside. In 1993 she transferred to Moreno Valley Animal Control as a staff technician. In 2000 she became the head technician Lincoln Plaza Veterinary Hospital in Riverside. Kristie joined the management staff of Animal Care Wellness Center in January 2009. She has served 17 years in the RVT, clinical and hospital field.


Director of Nursing - Amanda Barr, RVT

Amanda joined the ACWC family in September of 2009.  She has been doing technician work for 7 years and has been an RVT for 3 years.  She received a bachelor's degree in Child Development from Point Loma Nazarene University and studied for her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) qualification at Mt. San Antonio College, passing the State Board Exam for Registered Veterinary Technicians in February of 2008.  Amanda has a special interest in, and experience with, exotic animals, and has volunteered at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.  She also has a special love for rabbits and had the privilege of working under Dr. Sari Kanfer for two and a half years.  Her own menagerie includes two rabbits, two snakes, three cats, and a one-eyed dog.  Amanda and her husband have one son, and in their spare time they share a love of the outdoors and the ocean. "She is a great liaison between the patients and the staff", says Dr. Marc A. DiCarlo, Chief of the medical staff.


Wendy Larsen, RVT

Wendy was raised around and cared for several different types of animals while growing up, Wendy knew she wanted to be in a field that took care of animals. Wendy has expanded in many different areas of this hospital, from receptionist to room tech and then to treatment, she can be an asset where ever needed. She has extensive Veterinary experience as a Technician for over 10 years. She passed the California State Board Exam in March of 2011 and is now a Registered Veterinary Technician. Wendy loves continuing education and furthering her knowledge in the field. She will be teaching this coming summer a Veterinary Assistant College program and she is excited to teach others the trades of the field. She also recently passed the K-Laser test and is certified in performing laser therapy treatment to patients. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and taking her fur babies to the park. She is very crafty and her hobby's include; sewing, scrapbooking, playing sports, desert motor sports, and going on family outings. At home she has 3 loveable dogs, Razzle a miniature pinscher, Autumn a Doberman, and her latest addition Hazel a pitbull/lab mix.

Hospital and boarding kennel hours are: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are closed on Sundays.
